IT recycling, via a partner.

The route for equipment that has been decommissioned. DACPROS does not recycle equipment itself. Once equipment has been decommissioned and prepared, it is handed to a partner, who handles data destruction and recycling. This page explains that route.

Quick answer

How does recycling work with DACPROS?

Recycling follows decommissioning. DACPROS removes the equipment and hands it over, and a partner recycles it. The route starts with equipment that has already been taken out of service. We disconnect it, unrack it, record it and prepare it for handover. The partner then handles data destruction and recycling. DACPROS does not carry out either step, and does not issue destruction or recycling records.

This page covers recycling only. For the on-site removal, see IT decommissioning. For how removal and disposal fit together as a whole, see ITAD.

Read the guide: handing equipment to a partner

Who does what

Our side, their side.

Each step is either carried out by DACPROS or handled through a partner. We say which.

Recording what is handed over

A list of everything handed over, by serial number, that you can reconcile against the partner’s confirmation of receipt.

Preparing for collection

Kit staged, labelled and matched to a manifest, ready for the partner.

Data destruction (partner)

Handled by the partner. Agree the method with them before equipment leaves site. Any records come from them, not DACPROS.

Recycling (partner)

Carried out by the partner. DACPROS does not recycle equipment itself.

The route

From decommissioned to handed over.

Four steps. The first two are on site and done by DACPROS. The last two belong to the partner.

01

Decommissioned

Equipment is disconnected and unracked, either by DACPROS or by your own team, to a list you confirm.

02

Recorded and prepared

Each item is recorded by serial number against its box, then staged and labelled for handover.

03

Handed to the partner

Equipment passes to the partner, with the serial-number record so the receiving end can reconcile it.

04

Destroyed and recycled

The partner handles data destruction and recycling, and any records come from them.

Where and when

London-based, by arrangement.

Hammersmith hub, scheduled attendance

Our hub is in Hammersmith (W6). We operate Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00; out-of-hours attendance is possible only if arranged in advance. We do not offer a guaranteed response time, and attendance depends on location, scope and engineer availability, so tell us where the equipment is.

Recycling FAQ

Straight answers, no jargon.

Does DACPROS recycle IT equipment?
Not itself. Recycling is handled through a partner. We remove the equipment, record it and hand it over. The partner does the recycling.
Does this page cover the removal of the equipment?
No. Removal is covered by IT decommissioning. See IT decommissioning for the on-site work. Recycling is the step that follows.
Is my data destroyed before recycling?
That is handled through a partner, not by DACPROS. Your team decides how data is treated, and the partner carries it out. Agree the method with them before equipment leaves site.
Do you provide recycling or data destruction certificates?
No. Any such records come from the partner who carries out the work. DACPROS provides a list of what was handed over, by serial number, which you can reconcile against what the partner confirms as received.
What does WEEE mean for my equipment?
Disposal of electronic equipment in the UK is covered by the WEEE Regulations. The partner carrying out the disposal is responsible for handling it correctly. Ask them what they provide. DACPROS does not carry out disposal.
