IT decommissioning in London, racks cleared properly.
Hardware out, racks empty, handover done. DACPROS engineers disconnect, unrack and handle retired servers and other IT equipment, prepare it for removal or handover, and clear the racks. This is hands-on work on the equipment. It is not building demolition and not full data-centre decommissioning.
Quick answer
What is IT decommissioning?
IT decommissioning is the physical removal of retired IT equipment: disconnecting it, unracking it, handling it and preparing it for removal or handover. When servers, switches and storage reach the end of their use, someone has to get them out of the racks. DACPROS engineers do that work on site, to your list, and leave the racks clear for handback or reuse.
What this is not. It is not building demolition, and it is not full data-centre decommissioning. We do not strip out a facility’s power, cooling, fire suppression or fabric, and we do not close a site. We work on IT equipment and the racks it sits in.
Data destruction and recycling. These are handled through a partner, not by DACPROS. We can prepare equipment for collection and hand it over to them. For a real example of the physical work, read how we decommissioned around 300 servers from a constrained London colocation site.

What's included
The physical work, done to your list.
Your team decides what is going and shuts the systems down. We take it from there on the floor.
Disconnection
Power and network cabling disconnected and removed from the equipment on your list, in the order you set.
Unracking
Servers, switches and storage unmounted and taken out of the rack, with rails removed where they are going too.
Handling
Equipment packed and moved carefully, with each item recorded by serial number against the box it goes into.
Preparing for removal or handover
Kit staged, labelled and matched to a manifest, ready for your haulier, your warehouse or the partner handling destruction and recycling.
Clearing racks
Cabling, rails and anything not staying taken out, so the cabinet is empty for handback or reuse.
A record of what left
A list of what was removed, by serial number, that you can reconcile at the other end.
How it works
Planned first, then removed.
Most of the effort in a decommission is deciding what leaves, in what order, and where it goes next.
Scope
You give us the racks, the equipment list and where it is going.
Plan
Access, working window, boxes, haulier slots and the order of removal.
Disconnect
Power and network disconnected against your list once your team has shut systems down.
Unrack and hand over
Equipment unracked, recorded and passed to your haulier, warehouse or partner.
Clear
Racks emptied of cabling and fixings, ready for handback.
Where and when
London-based, by arrangement.
Hammersmith hub, scheduled attendance
Our hub is in Hammersmith (W6), so London is our home turf, from the City and Westminster to Canary Wharf, London Docklands (E14/E16) and the Slough/M4 data-centre corridor. We operate Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00; out-of-hours attendance is possible only if arranged in advance. We do not offer a guaranteed response time, and attendance outside London depends on location, scope and engineer availability, so tell us where the equipment is.
